It's Official! Generous donor Mr. Ron Breen of Hanover, PA hands over Windrose,
his 18' Laguna sloop, and trailer to Ship 25. Our new Boatswain, Tim,
thanks Mr. Breen on behalf of the Ship. Mr. Breen cared for Windrose
from 4 months after she was new in 1978 until today, 19 June 2002.
Mr. Breen is a retired Navy sonarman who is now moving to Florida with his
wife and purchasing a bigger boat. He found our Ship's web site on the
internet and called to ask if we'd like to have Windrose. Would
we ever! Thanks, Mr. Breen! May you always have fair winds and
following seas in the future.
Ship 25 wastes no time in towing Windrose to Sea Scout Base
Emigsville for a good wash and wax.
Mr. Breen was also kind enough to give us his 1984 4 hp Chrysler Model 42
outboard motor and his 1984 20' EZ-Loader trailer.
Amanda and Tim prepare to work on the mast.
The foredeck gets a scrubbing, too.
Even Cabin Boy Andrew (background) gets into the act.
A working ship is a happy ship, especially when they are dreaming of voyages
to come.
"Avast and belay," says the Boatswain. "Tomorrow is
another day!"
