HARRISBURG
- 9/2/2002 - Adam Blackford and Chris Sheaffer, in their final Under 18 appearance at
the Kipona Canoe Races, made it look easy as they nabbed first place in
the Age 15-18 Teen bracket.
Later, the Ship 25 team took to the water once more and garnered 2nd
Place for their first appearance in the Men’s C-2 race with a time of 3
minutes, 9 seconds for the half mile sprint.
This is the second year the pair were double medalists in the Dick
Reese sponsored Canoe races held on the Susquehanna River during the
Harrisburg Kipona Festival.

First Place Winners - age 15-18 teen bracket! Chris Sheaffer is an
Eagle Scout in his freshman year at Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA.
Adam Blackford, a senior at Central York High School, has just finished his
requirements for Eagle and is awaiting his Board of Review. Both Adam
and Chris are members of Sea Scout Ship 25 - SSS YORKSHIRE, a co-ed group of
young adults interested in fun and all things nautical.
