December 29 2004 marked a return to a historic
York-Adams Area Council tradition for Senior Scouts - the annual Snow
Ball. Our Council hosted an annual winter dance for senior Scouts from
1949 through the 1980's. This year's revival was hosted by Manchester's Crew 1 and East Berlin's Crew
911. The dance was open to all YAAC VSE members and their dates. As
you can see from the photos below, a good time was had by all.

Left: Sandy Shade, YAAC VSE Roundtable Coordinator and
helper man the registration table. $5 in advance, $7 at the
door. What's not to like? The price was right.
Right: the refreshment table is ready.

Crew 1 Advisor Kevin Mather spins some tunes with 3,000
watts of DJ power.

Brett, Kyle, Amanda, Mike, and date from Ship 25 are ready
to party.

Left: Ship 25's Boatswain Matt and date Kayla raise
the fashion bar. Sea Scouts always look sharp in dress blues, and
Kayla looks gorgeous in her ball gown. Right: Kayla shows off her
secret weapon for being able to dance the night away.

Left: Ship 25's Mate CJ Diamond looking good in
dress whites. Right: Another happy couple.

Left: The Ship 25 party HQ - Kris, Tom, Amanda, Brett, and
CJ. Right: Ship 25's Yeoman Mike and date.

Left: A happy party-goer leaving the refreshment
line. Right: The Limbo contest gets going.

Left: Kyle is dragged out onto the dance
floor. Center: Brett and Amanda don't need to be dragged
anywhere. Right: CJ dances with the mysterious "girl in the
white skirt", who got the Skipper's (Unofficial) Award for being the
"Best Dancer of the Evening."

Yeoman Mike and Boatswain Matt change partners for the
"Meet Someone New" dance.

Above: Other dancers enjoy themselves.

A wild conga line ends the evening.
The 2004 Snow Ball was a huge success. If you weren't
there, you missed a fine evening. But don't despair - odds are the
Snow Ball is back in business for next year.
